This is a general job description and represents multiple openings in various departments. Honda offers both single and multi-semester co-ops and internships. Work environments and projects may include but are not limited to: Manufacturing Focus on equipment, process, quality and new model activities related to the department of placement Project management Problem analysis Production support Investigating new technologies and implementing countermeasures Quality Learning and performing vehicle testing Conducting tests for chassis, brakes, controls, bonnet, trunk and/ or door systems Testing procedures and test fixtures New model development, drawing, studying, layouts and design change requests Investigating and providing countermeasures for mass production design related issues Warranty data trend analysis Re-creating problem failures to determine root cause, countermeasure development and confirmation testing Purchasing Completing supplier process capabilities assessments Problem reporting and analysis Countermeasure implementation Investigating suspect part issues Approve part changes Approve/ verify supplier countermeasures and issues trouble reports Various daily tasks such as attending meetings, working on project activities, problem analysis, writing technical reports, troubleshooting manufacturing or quality problems and communication to internal/ external customers Facilities Updating and documenting computer-aided design drawings of existing infrastructure Analyzing and designing existing sanitation, Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and building pressure systems Developing short and long-term solutions to problems found Designing modifications of existing facilities structures Updating mechanical engineering specifications and standards Reviewing electrical drawings Learning and understanding plant power infrastructure Verifying electrical panel schedules and updating highbay light locations Tooling/ Equipment Design Designing manufacturing equipment and tooling in 2D and 3D computer-aided design systems Determining equipment electrical hardware, software (Programmable Logic Controller, Human-Machine Interface, etc) and safety requirements, and appropriate design Managing a schedule and tracking daily process Investigating and troubleshooting problems during installation and manufacturing
