About The Position

The Industrial Engineer will perform manpower planning and leveling per the New Program Template. This role involves interacting with corporate planning, production management, and union leadership on all matters relating to Industrial Engineering activities. The engineer will lead a cross-functional team in the development of operator man assignments, working closely with Team Leaders, Quality, and Engineering to ensure objectives are met at both the station and plant levels. Building relationships with Engineering and Manufacturing is crucial to comprehend new product requirements and the sequence of build. The engineer will develop work assignments based on predetermined time standards, conduct studies in operations to maximize workflow and spatial utilization, and plan and oversee the layout of equipment, office, and production facilities. Additionally, the role includes performing cycle time and bottleneck analysis, developing and improving work methods, and taking on leadership roles in executing the launch plan. The candidate will also provide supervision, mentoring, and direction to less experienced team members, requiring self-motivation, goal orientation, and good presentation skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering.
  • 4+ years Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication, computer, and problem-solving/analytical skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and interface with all levels of management and labor.
  • Self-motivated.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Industrial Engineering experience implementing direct labor line balancing in a high-volume manufacturing environment using a standard time methodology.
  • Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of AMPS, MODAPTS, and TeamCenter highly desired.
  • Proficient in Google Suites and Microsoft Office applications.
