About The Position

Mueller Water Products is seeking an Industrial Engineer for its Kimball, TN facility. The role focuses on analyzing and maintaining processes and standards, special order processing, and estimating labor costs for new products. The Industrial Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency of production processes and the quality of output, contributing to the company's commitment to providing clean drinking water to millions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or other Engineering disciplines with 2+ years' experience in Industrial Engineering - or - 5+ years' experience in a similar field.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to effectively work in a team.
  • Strong statistical analysis background.
  • Knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing.
  • Ability to prepare capacity and cost studies.
  • Familiarity with statistical methods (SPC, Pre-Control, Capability Indices).
  • Problem-solving skills (DMAIC, 8D, RCCM, PDCA).
  • Risk analysis skills (PFMEA, DFMEA).
  • Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD/Solidworks).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Efficient in 5S, Standard Work, Value Stream-Mapping.
  • Demonstrated history of developing and managing KPIs and metrics.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Six Sigma - green or black belt training an asset.
  • JD Edwards E1 ERP system experience a major plus.
  • PMP/PMI certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct time studies and work measurement for production processes to optimize production efficiency.
  • Develop and implement labor standards for production operations to ensure consistent quality and output.
  • Analyze and develop labor cost estimates for new product introductions and process improvements.
  • Maintain routings and process maps to accurately reflect labor standards and improve process flow.
  • Identify and implement improvements in labor, tooling, materials, and process flow to increase productivity and reduce waste.
  • Conduct detailed analysis to determine machining rates and economics, and make recommendations to optimize production.
  • Assist in auditing manufacturing equipment to identify and address inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Utilize industrial training and expertise to make recommendations regarding work methods, staffing requirements, and capital expenditures for plant and equipment upgrades.
