About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking Mid-Career Industrial Engineer to work in a team of industrial engineers supporting metals and composite parts fabrication at Aerospace Composite Center in Hazelwood MO . As an Industrial Engineer (IE) you will be working closely with operations leaders and other stakeholders as we stabilize production rates, bring on additional products and improve productivity. The IE team you will be a part of will play a critical role in helping operations manage the current and future production system and improve processes into the future. Position Responsibilities: Performs industrial engineering activities associated with technical development, implementation, analysis and improvement activities throughout the business units Applies industrial engineering techniques and concepts to improve schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, through the application of Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts for large scale systems integration and asset utilization Manages, defines, negotiates, and controls the scope, cost, and timing of projects, and performs risk analysis using project management tools (e.g., work break-down structure, precedence network, resource allocation). Provides support to project completion Uses engineering methods (e.g., mathematical models, simulation, statistics) to support the development of optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (e.g., facilities, personnel, materials, equipment) in the creation and validation of products Analyzes and designs value stream, including capability, capacity (e.g., make/buy, supplier selection, risk analysis, supplier performance), throughput, work flow and logistics (e.g., critical path, lead-time, transportation, factory layout)

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial engineering or similar role
  • Minimum 2 years of experience supporting a manufacturing operation
  • Experience with process improvement and Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience with data analysis

Nice To Haves

  • 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 years of experience in an industrial engineering or similar role
  • Ability to effectively communicate with engineering peers, management, and non-engineering support staff.
  • Capable of building positive relationships
  • Adaptable to change and a quick learner
  • Experience analyzing complex production systems and using data analysis and or lean manufacturing principles to identify and remove road blocks
  • Experience in identifying opportunities to improve work-related products and processes within own work group, project or process and engaging and empowering team to make process improvements
  • ABET accredited degree
