About The Position

As an Industrial Engineer, you will work directly with production in implementing lean manufacturing systems. You will analyze throughput data to help departments improve performance and be responsible to handle standardized work for future products alongside the core team. The main purpose of the Industrial Engineer is to work to eliminate waste of time, money, materials, person-hours, machine time, energy and other resources that do not generate value. The position will develop, recommend, and implement changes which will result in the improvement of manufacturing processes and or product quality. The ability to work in a multifaceted, fast-paced manufacturing environment is essential to your success at Ultium Cells. As an Industrial Engineer at Ultium Cells – Spring Hill, you will partner directly with production to design, implement, and sustain lean manufacturing systems that improve safety, quality, and productivity. You will use lean systems design, standardized work, and labor/resource planning to ensure stable, predictable, and efficient operations while analyzing throughput and performance data to identify bottlenecks and losses. You will drive the elimination of waste in time, materials, labor, machine utilization, and energy. In this fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing environment, you will translate data and shop-floor observations into practical improvements, champion lean thinking, and collaborate across operations, maintenance, quality, EHS, and engineering to build robust and reliable production systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years of Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles
  • Proficient CAD experience
  • Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving chops, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, multi-cultural, team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or similar field
  • Ergonomic Experience
  • Experience with Productivity, Standardized Work, and Time Studies

Responsibilities

  • Promote safe work practices as the highest priority and support objectives for ergonomics, health, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Create, track, and support action plans to achieve annual plant goals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of manpower headcount and utilization.
  • Lead and support throughput improvement, ergonomic assessments, and plant cost studies.
  • Follow and support the plant change control process.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing System (LMS) initiatives and external requests for IE studies.
  • Apply critical path methodology in planning, analysis, and problem resolution.
  • Optimize sequence of operations, work flow, and resource utilization.
  • Improve efficiencies through waste elimination and process improvements.
  • Perform data analysis to establish and track plant metrics and tackle complex problems.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to manufacturing and maintenance team members, production supervisors, and operators.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
