About The Position

The Industrial Engineer supports efficient, safe, and cost-effective manufacturing of electric motors by improving production processes, labor utilization, material flow, and quality performance. This role is hands-on and plant-focused, working closely with production, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams in a small manufacturing environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience preferred, ideally in motor manufacturing, electromechanical assembly, or similar discrete manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
  • Ability to spend extended time on the production shop floor in climate controlled and non-controlled environments.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environment with machinery, noise, and tools.
  • Problem-solving & Critical Thinking: Capable of analyzing complex manufacturing and design challenges, diagnosing root causes, and developing effective solutions
  • Attention to Detail & Accuracy: Meticulous in interpreting and producing technical drawings, models, and documentation to ensure precision and consistency.
  • Excellent Communication (Verbal and Written): Comfortable articulating technical concepts clearly across cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with PLC programming
  • Experience with robotics (FANUC, ABB, etc.) or automated assembly cells.
  • Familiarity with CAD (SolidWorks/AutoCAD) for layouts and fixture design.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Knowledge of motor manufacturing processes is a plus (magnetization, winding, testing, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Industrial Process Engineering: Analyze production workflow to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), process maps, and work instructions.
  • Support optimization of winding, stator/rotor assembly, balancing, impregnation, and testing operations.
  • Conduct time studies, line balancing, and ergonomic assessments.
  • Equipment and Manufacturing Support: Lead installation, commissioning, and validation of new machinery or automation lines.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and coordinate with maintenance to resolve downtime issues.
  • Ensure proper integration of automated systems with existing production processes.
  • Quality and Compliance: Collaborate with Quality to ensure process capability, defect reduction, and scrap control.
  • Contribute to root cause analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA) for equipment- or process-related issues.
  • Ensure all automation and electrical systems comply with safety standards.
