Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, facility layout, or production optimization.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD with demonstrated success leading layout redesigns.
  • Strong understanding of material flow, workstation design, line balancing, and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and hands‑on problem‑solving skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a live production environment.
  • Flexibility to support extended hours during major moves or installation activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in heavy assembly, industrial equipment, high‑voltage, or engineered‑to‑order environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with crane systems or material‑handling infrastructure is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Lean, 5S, and CI methodologies; Six Sigma certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the factory master layout in AutoCAD, ensuring controlled governance of revisions and production area changes.
  • Lead facility space planning, production moves, and phased transitions with minimal operational disruption.
  • Drive Lean transformations across Mechanical Test Bays, the High Voltage Lab, Shipping, and Material Handling.
  • Design and standardize workstation layouts, material presentation methods, and visual management systems.
  • Conduct time studies, line balancing, and flow analysis to validate staffing and improve throughput.
  • Lead crane and material‑handling infrastructure planning, coordinating with external vendors.
  • Perform field measurements, constraint analysis, and feasibility reviews before installation.
  • Govern modular workstation systems (Creform/80‑20), including standards and documentation.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure physical changes align with process, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and lead on‑floor implementation activities.
