Job Summary Responsible for increasing productivity through the management of workers, methods of business organization, and technology to solve organizational, production, and related problems efficiently. we’re looking to add an Industrial Engineer located in Salt Lake City, UT What a typical day looks like: Simulates process, materials and manufacturing workflow and gives input to process engineer Support NPI with process planning and set up with respect to takt, cycle time and direct labor requirement. Work measurement programs and examines work samples to develop standards for labor utilization. Examines staff utilization, facility layout, and operational data, such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to define efficient utilization of workers and equipment. Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocation work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment. Manages and supports initiatives to increase throughput, reduce cost and improve performance in constrained areas like Lean, Automation and/or Six Sigma projects.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree, preference in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Conduct work measurement studies and analyze data to establish labor standards and define equipment utilization.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to workflows, material handling, and space utilization.
  • Support factory layout design and define optimal workstations using AutoCAD or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and automation principles.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, including statistical analysis and process modeling.
  • Experience working with manufacturing environments, NPI projects and engineering initiatives.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and engineering software for layout and workflow design.
