About The Position

Reporting directly to Manager Distribution Engineering within the Operations department, the Industrial Engineer I is responsible for collaborating with, but not limited to, the Information Technology, Quality, Product Development, Sourcing, Purchasing and Logistics departments. Duties include analyzing and optimizing operational processes including personnel and material workflows, equipment, and inventory management to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance safety.

Requirements

  • 3–5-year previous experience in developing warehouse distribution processes
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or manufacturing engineering
  • Strong aptitude for and proficiency navigating Enterprise Resource Planning, Warehouse Management, and Transportation Management Systems is a plus
  • Prior experience in Quality Management Systems is a plus
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Ability to achieve results both independently and through others by fostering a spirit of teamwork and cooperation
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication across all contact channels, including email, chat and phone
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including weekends, early mornings, late evenings
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered for this role

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and support cross functional processes to support Operations, resolve problems, eliminate errors and improve overall efficiency.
  • Perform time studies to evaluate labor productivity and identify opportunities to optimize employee tasks and material workflow.
  • Facilitate and participate in problem-solving sessions, implementing Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methods to reduce waste and increase throughput.
  • Research, test, and implement technological upgrades to optimize throughput and minimize equipment downtime.
  • Lead product packaging improvements and standard revisions.
  • Create, update, and maintain facility layouts in CAD.
  • Train warehouse staff on new processes, revisions, techniques, new equipment while developing standards to ensure proper implementation.
  • Identify and recommend staffing, equipment, tooling, and layout updates to meet the business needs.
  • Identify and execute ergonomic improvements to improve safety and reduce occupational injuries.
