About The Position

The Industrial Engineer Intern supports initiatives focused on improving production efficiency, labor utilization, workflow optimization, and operational performance within manufacturing operations. This role provides hands-on experience applying industrial engineering and lean manufacturing principles in a commercial vehicle production environment. The intern will work closely with engineering and operations teams to analyze processes, collect data, and support continuous improvement projects that enhance safety, quality, and productivity.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and ability to work independently and with others.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, with excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and mechanical systems preferred.
Manufacturing awareness with welding, sheet metal, assembly processes, tolerances is valuable.

Responsibilities

Assist with time studies, labor analysis, and productivity evaluations.
Support line balancing, workflow optimization, and capacity analysis activities.
Participate in plant layout and material flow improvement projects.
Assist with development and documentation of standard work processes.
Collect and analyze manufacturing data to identify improvement opportunities.
Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Assist with ergonomic assessments and safety improvement projects.
Participate in cross-functional project teams with operations and engineering.
Support staffing analysis or manpower planning initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.
