Requirements

  • Enrolled in Engineering college working on Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing practices and procedures.
  • Previous Lean/Six Sigma experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, as well as Manufacturing software.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with co-workers.

Responsibilities

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates the behaviors of punctuality, regular attendance, professionalism towards supervisors and co-workers, and self-directed task completion.
  • Maintains clean work area.
  • Must comply with all departmental SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), company GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), Employee Handbook Policies, including attendance, and all safety rules and standards.
  • Works normal shift hours and overtime as required.
  • Coordinates efforts as part of the team to provide assistance to all co-workers in all departments to maximize production efficiencies as needed.
  • Leads/facilitates the preparation and execution of improvement activities, including, but not limited to, training, data collection, event logistics and developing mechanisms to measure and monitor the success of the events.
  • Assists in the identification of potential events and lean implementation strategy.
  • Develops, configures and optimizes industrial processes from inception through to start up and certification.
  • Assesses processes, measures/gathers data and interprets data.
  • Develops best practices, routine and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality output.
  • Provides process documentation and operating instructions.
  • Works to understand the use and application of Lean tools and principles in both production and non-production environments.
  • Assists in the training of others in these principles.
  • Assists with information technology production projects.
  • Liaises and collaborates with other engineering and information technology staff to resolve production related information technology issues.
  • Develops detailed production plans and ensures the execution of same based on data collected about customer requirements.
