Veterans/Disabled and other protected categories JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION: INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER II LOCATION: Chatsworth, CA SHIFT: Monday - Thursday (6:15 AM – 4:45 PM) Qualifications KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING (≈50%) Perform value stream mapping and workflow optimization. Develop and maintain labor standards and capacity models. Identify and eliminate production bottlenecks. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and Kaizen events. Analyze production KPIs such as: Throughput OEE WIP levels Cycle time Design and implement improved factory layouts and material flow systems. Support production line balancing across machining, composites, finishing, and testing. MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING (≈50%) Develop and improve manufacturing processes and tooling. Provide technical support for machining, fiberglass layup, foam operations, finishing, painting, and electrical testing. Create and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation and work instructions. Support new product introduction (NPI) and transition to production. Investigate root causes of production issues and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with quality engineering on process capability improvements. Specify and implement fixtures, tooling, and equipment improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • 3–8 years of experience in manufacturing environments
  • Strong experience with Lean manufacturing tools and process improvement
  • Experience supporting production engineering activities
  • Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
  • Independently develop manufacturing cells layouts, equipment layouts, and facility floor plans
  • Designs or modifies basic tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing aids to support production processes.
  • Uses CAD tools to support: Production line balancing and flow optimization Equipment integration into existing manufacturing systems Ergonomic workstation design Space utilization and capacity planning
  • Any other job duties as assigned.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing
  • Knowledge of machining and composite manufacturing processes
  • Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Experience with ERP/MES systems
