The Industrial Engineer I position at RTX, within the Collins Aerospace Avionics team, involves participating in cross-functional efforts to enhance production yields, throughput, equipment capacity, and product quality. Key responsibilities include identifying defect trends, performing root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and analyzing the performance and reliability of existing production equipment to decrease downtime. The role also entails programming and optimizing equipment, ensuring the availability of TPMs and PMs, conducting capacity planning and utilization analysis to minimize staffing needs and capital requirements, and selecting capital equipment based on cost/payback analysis. The engineer will also improve existing fixtures, support R&R efforts for new test solutions, drive manufacturing process improvements, analyze factory needs, conduct process flow analysis, develop manufacturing tools, and implement procedure and process improvements focused on safety, quality, and productivity. This role offers an opportunity to enhance technical skills across the entire product assembly process, gain practical experience with Lean Manufacturing, and develop an in-depth understanding of electronics manufacturing. U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
