About The Position

Industrial Engineer I As an Industrial Engineer I you will: Develop and maintain Value Stream Maps to optimize material and information flow, takt time, lead time, and waste elimination. Participate in Kaizen events aimed at production and support process improvements. Analyze cycle times, labor costs, and material flows, proposing actionable improvements. Investigate and propose cutting-edge methods to improve process safety, product quality, waste elimination, and cost reduction. Prepare and analyze process and production reports leveraging ERP/MES systems (e.g., JDE). Lead structured problem-solving activities using 5 Whys, Fishbone, and DMAIC methodologies. Provide manufacturing decision-making data by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; and estimating future operational needs. Support the development of work instructions and training materials for standardization and operator development. Understand the functions of Planning, Logistics, Quality, Manufacturing Excellence, and Production teams to implement improvements. Analyze ERP and MES systems and suggests improvements to improve the flow of information Contribute to inventory reduction and material flow optimization initiatives. Provide direct floor-level technical support to production through troubleshooting and improvement actions. Participate in new product design reviews, providing input on DFMEA, PFMEA, and assembly feasibility to identify and mitigate process risks. Support the implementation of new products and product lines through cell layout development, landing of new equipment, and preparation of documentation, work instructions, and operator training. Design and modify fixtures, workstation layouts, and material flow systems, where/if requested Foster a culture of continuous improvement, floor presence, and cross-functional engagement. Be at least White Belt Six Sigma working towards Yellow Belt or higher

Requirements

  • Holds a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Engineering or related field
  • Has 0-2 years of experience in industrial, Mechanical engineering or related field
  • Has basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (White Belt or higher)
  • Possesses strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP/MES tools

Nice To Haves

  • Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with JDE or similar ERP systems
  • Exposure to PFMEA and/or DFMEA processes
