About The Position
Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. We are hiring an Industrial Engineer to support Factory Planning within our GSE Engineering team. This role will be responsible for the heartbeat of satellite production facility delivery. They will develop and deliver plans for facility layout and function, and will unite production teams to achieve mission success. This individual will work with a wide variety of contractors, technicians, engineers, architects, and Amazon leaders to develop and deliver a vision that meets our satellite production goals. This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position, and you'll work with leaders in multiple technology areas. You'll have relentlessly high standards for yourself and everyone you work with, and you'll be constantly looking for ways to improve your product's performance, quality and cost. Requirements
- 4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience with prototyping and implementation
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-level CAD models, rate calculators, and equipment lists for production and product flow through the factory
- Develop and maintain high-level utility budgets, LN2, GN2, Compressed Air, Electrical
- Drive a unified production vision across a variety of different product lines within available constraints
- Deliver plans for layout and construction of factory cells based on co-development with area leaders
- Work with internal and external teams to deliver rate capable facilities to meet timelines
