About The Position

The Industrial Engineer I position at RTX Corporation in McKinney, Texas, involves leading industrial engineering activities to enhance manufacturing system performance. The role focuses on applying Lean and Six Sigma principles to improve efficiency, resource utilization, and throughput while ensuring cost, quality, and delivery goals are met. The engineer will also participate in safety and ergonomic improvements and contribute to strategic planning for factory expansion and technology integration.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Technology, Engineering or Mathematics unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • 1 year of applicable experience.
  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze manufacturing system performance to identify undesirable effects and opportunities for improvement.
  • Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints.
  • Apply Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate constraints, improve efficiency, and meet or exceed cost, quality, and on-time delivery goals.
  • Create process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to graphically show manufacturing processes, the movement of material, the exchange of information, and key metrics.
  • Participate in factory safety and ergonomic improvements.
  • Contribute to strategic roadmaps focused on factory expansion, Manufacturing Technology insertion, infrastructure improvements, obsolescence mitigation, and the integration of new capabilities.
  • Partner with project managers and other functions to execute projects that modify the factory footprint, change the layout of factory equipment, and/or add new capability.
  • Support competitive bids, factory proposals, business case development for future investments, and Make/Buy/Where analyses.
