Starting Rate: $40/hour Locate, install, test, troubleshoot, repair, modify, and maintain industrial/electronic systems devices, and equipment by interpreting blueprints, schematic diagrams, and computerized control logic systems. Will follow technical, oral or written instructions guided by OEM related technical experience, trade practices, manufacturers and underwriters’ specifications, NEC (National Electrical Code), municipal codes and ordinances, while applying thorough knowledge of electrical theory. Analyze and correct malfunctioning electrical /electronic equipment, variable frequency drives, generators and generator controls/monitoring devices, motor control centers & motors, transformers, switch gear, power supplies, converters, and safety relays by functionally testing, repairing, replacing, adjusting controls and related components to restore equipment to optimum operating condition. Conduct necessary functional tests using such test equipment as ammeters, voltmeters, multimeters, computerized diagnostic equipment, oscilloscopes, and other related equipment to ensure such equipment is operating to required specifications. In Production Test, Industrial Electronic Electricians responsibilities include: 1. Work and perform functional testing and troubleshooting on electrical/ electronic devices. 2. Perform Lockout/Tag out procedures for electrical systems. 3. Perform Hookups and disconnects of circuits. 4. Load bank and transformer voltage changes. 5. Switchgear setup Load bank control configurations 6. Prior to energizing of packages and control consoles, verification of proper grounding installation. 7. Initial loading of generator set packages. 8. Voltage builds and initial loading procedures. 9. Verification of generator set package electrical configurations and authorization of initial closing of output circuit breaker and prior to initial start on each shift. 10. Daily monitoring of facility AC log to ensure proper communication and safety practices between Production Test, Maintenance, and outside contractors. 11. Following production test instructions when performing test operations. 12. Observing and following standard safety practices when performing test operations. MATERIALS, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT USED: Materials worked on: Electrical AC/DC motors, VFDs (variable frequency drivers), PLC systems, generators, switchboards, recording instruments, control and lighting circuits. Materials worked with: Cables, wires, tape, solder, insulators, fuses, switches, relays, screws, bolts, lubricants, electrical and electronic replacement parts and supplies. Tools used: soldering irons and guns, wire strippers and gauges, measuring instruments such as ammeters, voltmeters, volt ohmmeters, oscilloscopes, tape recorders, battery boxes electricians/electronic hand tools, PC computer and computer terminals.
