About The Position

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all electrical systems, automation, and instrumentation across the high-speed 2-piece aluminum can production lines. This role ensures that equipment such as Cuppers, Bodymakers, Trimmers, Washers, Decorators, Necker, Palletizers, and conveyors operate safely, reliably, and in compliance with industrial standards. The electrician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, assist in equipment upgrades, and support continuous improvement initiatives to minimize downtime and optimize line efficiency.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience (packaging, high-speed manufacturing, or can making preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with Siemens or Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and servo systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting of motor controls, drives, and industrial sensors.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic diagrams.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation (pressure, level, and temperature sensors).
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
  • Team player who can collaborate across electrical and mechanical groups.
  • Good communication skills to document work and share findings with supervisors.
  • Diploma/associate degree in electrical engineering, Industrial Electricity, or related field.
  • Apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on training preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Profibus/Profinet or similar communication networks is a plus.
  • Licensed Electrician (Journeyman/Master).
  • OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, or equivalent safety training.

Responsibilities

  • Electrical System Maintenance & troubleshooting:
  • Perform maintenance on electrical systems, including motors, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, encoders, and control panels.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults in high-speed aluminum can-making machinery.
  • Work with 380VAC and 24VDC power systems, servo drives, VFDs, and pneumatic/electro-mechanical controls.
  • Compliance & Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, and company safety policies.
  • Conduct arc flash risk assessments and enforce LOTO (Lockout-Tagout) procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for electrical inspection and repairs.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
  • Work closely with mechanics, engineers, and production teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve electrical efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Assist in new equipment installation and commissioning.
  • Support inventory tracking of electrical spare parts.
