About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Electrician with strong mechanical aptitude to join our industrial plant team. The ideal candidate will have proficient knowledge of 480V power distribution, PLCs, instrumentation, and motor control systems, along with a working understanding of mechanical equipment in an industrial setting.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Completion of an apprenticeship program, technical program, or equivalent experience in industrial background.
  • 1-3 years electrical experience.
  • Proven experience as an industrial electrician.
  • Strong knowledge of 480V power systems, PLCs, and motor controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and maintenance software.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently or in a team.
  • Ability to access all plant areas, including heights up to 120 feet, confined spaces, ladders, and tunnels.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, vibration, dust, fumes, and lime/mineral particles.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, reach, and lift up to 32.5 pounds occasionally.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Strong sense of urgency and customer focus.
  • Commitment to safety and housekeeping standards.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years electrical experience.
  • Previous heavy manufacturing and/or mining experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience programming and troubleshooting with Allen-Bradley PLC-5, Control Logix, and RSLogix5, 480V power distribution and motor controls is strongly desired.
  • Perform acetylene torch cutting, arc, and MIG welding (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all company, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Promptly report any operational or safety concerns to supervision.
  • Perform all tasks in a neat, orderly, and safe manner.
  • Maintain tools in good condition and report any damage or loss.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control systems using multimeters, meggers, and other test equipment.
  • Disconnect, replace, and reconnect low and medium voltage motors using proper procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain control circuits, motor starters, soft starts, DC drives, and VFDs.
  • Install electrical wiring and conduit per NEC standards.
  • Read and interpret one-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems, including inspections and calibrations.
  • Use computer-based maintenance software (e.g., SAP) to enter work orders.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Perform acetylene torch cutting, arc, and MIG welding (preferred).
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.
