About The Position

Benefits begin the month following the hire date. Shift: 1st Shift 8:00 am-4:30 pm M-F, on call maybe required. Salary: The hourly wage for this position varies based on specific responsibilities and geographic location. Starting hourly rate will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and/or skillset. Summary: Under general supervision, this position maintains, troubleshoots and services electrical and electronic systems, machinery, and controls and supports all production and physical plant equipment in the facility. Complies with applicable regulations and the company’s safety program. Essential Functions: Perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, and principles of operation of electrical equipment. Respond quickly to issues or concerns that may put employees at risk for injury, to include rectifying immediate dangers. Plan work procedures and determine replacement needs or upgrade requirements and develops a logical approach to correct the problem. Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service and replace electronic devices and systems. Collaborate with other trades and vendors on coordinated maintenance tasks or cross-discipline troubleshooting. Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and motors using appropriate tools and testing instruments. Troubleshoot and repairs electric controls, motor control centers, and programmable logic controls. Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems whether electrical or mechanical. Operates equipment in accordance with site requirements, company safety procedures and OSHA requirements for machine activation and shutdown. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment to detect and prevent problems. Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests. Calibrate testing instruments and/or equipment to prescribed specifications. Outline new preventative maintenance tasks as recommended by the manufacturer and or the facility’s historical data. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Electrical apprenticeship and/or vocational school/technology certificate in electricity.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of electrical technical hands-on experience including wiring automation machine control panels and PLCs.
  • Adherence to apply standards per the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code.
  • Ability to use appropriate hand, power and specialty tools and diagnostic equipment to complete job tasks.
  • Ability to read, use and understand gauges, tools and instruments relating to equipment repair.

Nice To Haves

  • Scissor lift driving experience is preferred but not necessary.
  • Per location, may need to be on call at times.
