About The Position

The Industrial Electrician position is a night shift role focused on ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems within a manufacturing plant. The primary responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical components, as well as performing preventive maintenance on AC/DC motors and motor control systems. The role requires a strong understanding of electrical schematics and the ability to operate various electrical test equipment. Safety is a top priority, and adherence to the plant's accident prevention policies is essential. The position also involves developing skills in advanced control systems and instrumentation equipment, including PLC controls, while complying with NEC codes and NFPA-70E standards.

Requirements

  • Must have the desired technical skills to safely and proficiently work as an electrician in a plant setting.
  • Possess basic mechanical maintenance skills.
  • Ability to interpret and perform tasks as detailed on printed work orders.
  • Basic computer skills needed to complete safety training and review work-related email.
  • Ability to operate equipment as needed, including forklifts.
  • Familiar with common hand tools and how to properly use them.
  • Good collaboration skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely by adhering to the plant's accident prevention policies.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Safely install, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot electrical components within the manufacturing plant.
  • Maintain, test, and repair AC/DC motors and motor control systems.
  • Develop skills to troubleshoot advanced control systems and instrumentation equipment including PLC controls.
  • Interpret and use wiring schematics.
  • Operate electrical test equipment inherent to the job.
  • Know and understand NEC codes and practice all other electrician duties in a manufacturing environment.
