About The Position

Weyerhaeuser's Montana Wood Products is currently looking for an Industrial Electrician (Journey Level) to join our Columbia Falls MDF facility. A qualified candidate would have a thorough comprehensive knowledge of electrical equipment, processes, and techniques to safely repair, modify, install, and maintain the facility and high-tech manufacturing equipment. Qualified candidates may start at a higher level after demonstrating the correct aptitude and/or documentation of training. Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of electrical experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associates Degree in Electrical Maintenance preferred
  • Basic Industrial Electrical Construction based on NFPA 70 National Electric Code
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints; electrical schematics and ladder logic
  • Ability to work closely with supervisors, electricians, millwrights and others; be a team player/leader; good verbal and written communication skills; and demonstrate positive attitude
  • Demonstrate ability to work safely and care for tools and equipment
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with and without direct supervision
  • Knowledge and ability to use Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills including Maintenance Management Software, MS Office, Email and Web based programs
  • Must be able to manage program files as documented in file management SOPs
  • Must be able to search Knowledgebase and follow written procedures

Nice To Haves

  • Willing and self-motivated to learn Rockwell's process control technology including but not limited to DeviceNet communication, PowerFlex VFDs, ControlLogix PLCs, E300 motor overloads, and FactoryTalk HMIs
  • Willingness to complete designated TPC courses for the required advancement in the Electrical Progression program
  • Must be comfortable working above the ground at times, and outside as necessary working in all-weather environments
  • Candidates must have the ability to interpret and apply verbal and/or written instructions
  • A sense of urgency in terms of maximizing production and minimizing down time is necessary in this type of manufacturing environment
  • Tasks performed involve work with equipment and materials that require familiarity with formal safety procedures and the following of these procedures in order to maintain the safety of the work environment
  • Must have good performance, safety and attendance records
  • Willingness to work overtime, odd hours, weekends, holidays and other shifts as required

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing by maximizing plant uptime and providing support for all facility systems in a safe manner, while contributing to corporate, plant, and departmental goals
  • Work with a team of electricians and millwrights to troubleshoot and repair complex electrical problems, deliver preventative and routine maintenance on plant equipment, create innovative solutions to complex issues and work on capital projects
  • Perform maintenance tasks involving troubleshooting, repairing, upgrading and installations of equipment and production electrical systems with minimal supervision or direction
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics and ladder logic
  • Exemplify and promote exceptional safety standards; including but not limited to performing independent safety audits and attending monthly safety meetings to promote a caring safety culture
  • Manage work orders; modify equipment specifications; track, print/issue and update PM's (preventative maintenance) through SAP (CMMS)
