The Electrical Technician will complete all required regulatory and safety training and will follow all safety rules and requirements, including maintaining a clean work area. The technician will receive wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications, and instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection work to be done. They will provide general assistance in assessing all types of circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings as required to install, repair, adjust, calibrate, program, time, construct, modify, or service all types of electrical and electronic devices and systems, including communication systems, various mill and production equipment, electronic computing and control systems, power and distribution control equipment, measuring, recording, processing and control devices, indicating devices and gauges, etc. The technician will plan details of working procedures to find material or replacement needs and select a logical approach to troubleshooting and repair problems, answering trouble calls as needed. They will make sketches of parts and layouts, assemble, install conduit, inspect, adjust, repair, or replace faulty parts and wiring on all types of electronic devices, and use test equipment and hand tools to locate and properly repair equipment to ensure it is operating safely, efficiently, and effectively. The technician will install conduit, switches, controls, and fixtures, assist in the connection of all types of electrical or electronic equipment as required for new equipment installation or replacements, and assist in the installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance of high voltage switch gear, cables, insulators, bushings, etc. They will utilize all required computer systems for planning, executing, and reporting, and must have certification in fork truck, various overhead cranes, man-lifts (scissor lifts), and other mobile equipment as required in maintenance activities. The technician will perform all other plant electrical maintenance as required and perform other duties and work assignments as required and directed, working with repair crews as directed.
