About The Position

Keep Fort Wayne's Water Filtration Plant running smoothly! Join the City of Fort Wayne as an Industrial Electrical Technician. City of Fort Wayne – Water Filtration Plant Position: Industrial Electrical Technician Pay: $31.00 – $36.50 per hour Schedule: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Location: Fort Wayne, IN What You'll Do: Troubleshoot, program, calibrate, and repair equipment and automated systems at the Filtration Plant Work with PLCs, SCADA, VFDs, telemetry, instrumentation, and electrical/electronic systems Design, install, and maintain electrical circuits and control systems Assist with capital improvement projects, budgeting, and planning Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on low and medium voltage systems Maintain fiber optic networks and process/computer systems Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code and City safety regulations Train and assist other employees as needed Remain on-call for emergencies Must-Have Qualifications: Associate's degree or technical school plus 3 years experience, OR 5 years related experience Allen County Journeyman Electrician License (or 5 years documented experience in Industrial PLCs/electrical systems) CPR, First Aid, Confined Space Entry certification Valid Indiana Driver's License Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills Why Join Us: Play a critical role in keeping Fort Wayne's water facilities operational and safe Hands-on, technical work with state-of-the-art systems Competitive pay and a professional, supportive work environment Equal Opportunity Employer Make a difference in Fort Wayne's water infrastructure every day!

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or technical school plus 3 years experience, OR 5 years related experience
  • Allen County Journeyman Electrician License (or 5 years documented experience in Industrial PLCs/electrical systems)
  • CPR, First Aid, Confined Space Entry certification
  • Valid Indiana Driver's License
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities
