About The Position

This position is highly technical, dealing with motor control products, VFDs, control panel design, and electrical power distribution. A background in basic industrial electrical knowledge is required, along with various field experiences in differing industries. AutoCad-Electrical is not required but would be helpful. This is a customer-facing position, strong ability to communicate both verbally & written is required. Associate Degree or equivalent in Electrical technology is required.

  • Differentiate and apply electrical engineering design and analysis.
  • Provide minimal assistance with assembly of electrical control panels.
  • Ask appropriate questions to analyze user needs/problems then research to provide appropriate product and/or solutions.
  • Communicate effectively and technically (written and verbal) to provide appropriate training and to support users in their ability to learn and operate products.
  • Considerable multi-tasking.
  • MUST be able to read & interpret electrical drawings & diagrams.
  • Moderate physical requirements involving standing, sitting, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, and carrying.
  • Driving.
  • Close visual work.
  • Lift up to 70# infrequently.
  • Hearing acuity.
  • Use phones.
  • Use computers

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering technical support for sales.
  • Participate in the sales planning & implementation process with assigned Account Managers to identify & capture electrical product sale opportunities.
  • Assist inside sales department with questions and identify viable solutions.
  • Design/develop or modify/implement control panels to meet user application requirements/specifications.
  • Meet with vendors to discuss new and existing electrical products and pricing.
  • Assist customers with on-site start-ups.
  • Provide panel shop specialists with guidance and specifications for electrical control panels in panel shop.
  • Ability to lead customer training classes on VFD’s and other products.
  • Perform other department/company functions as requested or required in related or non-related areas.
