About The Position

We’re a passionate team from Square, Google, TikTok, Peloton, Uber, and more working to transform the human-pet relationship. Our mission? Develop cutting-edge technology to revolutionize what it means to be a pet parent. The pet industry remains firmly stuck in the past and we are here to change that. Fi is leveraging our team's talent and expertise to improve the lives of millions of pets in the U.S. Real-time location tracking, activity, sleep and behavior monitoring – and that's just the beginning. The most exciting aspect of our work? Bridging the communication gap between pets and humans. Imagine a world where everyone knows how their pet feels in real time and how to keep their best friend in good shape. That's the future we're building at Fi. If you're someone who thrives in innovative, collaborative work environments and feels strongly about helping pets live longer, better lives, Fi could be the perfect fit. Join us in our pursuit of the “impossible,” or as we call it here “let me find a way,” to redefine the future of pet ownership together. Fi is looking for an Industrial Designer! Fi is looking for an Industrial Designer to own the physical design of our products, packaging, and brand experiences. This role is a unique opportunity to shape products that dogs actually wear—every day, through mud, water, sand, and everything in between. You'll work hand-in-hand with Hardware Engineering to design our collar products, but you'll also shape how customers experience Fi at every touchpoint—from unboxing to retail displays to the images they see online. If you're excited to blend refined design instincts with playful creativity, collaborate across teams, and work on products that people (and their dogs) genuinely love, this role is for you.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of industrial design experience, ideally including consumer electronics or wearables. Expertise in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar) and rendering software (KeyShot, Blender, or similar).
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating both refined aesthetics and practical problem-solving, with a customer-obsessed and detail-driven mindset.
  • Experience designing for manufacturing—you understand tolerances, materials, and what makes something producible at scale.
  • Ability to communicate design intent clearly to engineers, vendors, and non-designers, translating between creative vision and technical constraints.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, startup environments, working both independently and collaboratively.

  • Experience with packaging design is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead industrial design for Fi's collar products, including device housings, attachment mechanisms, and accessories.
