The Job: As an Industrial Designer I , you will collaborate with talented Industrial Designers, Engineers, and Program Managers, gaining hands-on experience in the product development process. You will contribute to the creation of high-quality 3D CAD models, physical prototypes, and ergonomic evaluations of products that are essential for new product launches. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or those early in their careers who are passionate about industrial design and eager to learn from industry leaders. You’ll be part of our Tools and Outdoor team working as a hybrid employee.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or a related field.
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience (internships, co-ops, or project work welcome).
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creative problem-solving, sketching, and 3D modeling skills.
  • Proficiency in design software (Preferably CATIA; however, full training will be provided as needed).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for hands-on product development.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or interest in woodworking, power tools, or consumer products.
  • Familiarity with prototyping methods (3D printing, CNC, hand tools).
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior designers, engineers, and product managers to develop concepts for tools and accessories across multiple product categories.
  • Create sketches, renderings, and 3D models to visualize and communicate design ideas.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions, user research, and competitive analysis.
  • Support the prototyping and testing of new designs, incorporating feedback to refine solutions.
  • Prepare presentations and documentation for design reviews and project updates.
  • Ensure designs align with brand guidelines, user needs, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Stay current with industry trends, materials, and technologies relevant to woodworking and industrial design.
