About The Position

Newton CFV, a Middleby Company, is a rapidly growing organization. Newton CFV collaborates with globally recognized equipment manufacturers, beverage suppliers, convenience store chains, and restaurants to build and incorporate CFV technology in beverage dispensing and sanitizing systems. Newton is looking to hire an Industrial Design Engineer. The primary responsibility of the Industrial Design Engineer will be to work closely with Engineering and R&D teams, consulting managers, and clients about design requirements to design new products using the CFV technology and leading an R&D team to build prototypes. The Industrial Design Engineer will focus on design and hands-on development of prototype machines using engineering principles to increase the efficiency and value of the business, while utilizing cost effective mechanisms and improving overall product performance and reliability.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, or Product Design.
  • 2-5 years of related design experience preferred.
  • Advanced technical and creative skills.
  • Attention to details.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in 3D CAD/PLM systems, CATIA/SolidWorks
  • Commercial awareness
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to utilize engineering principles to develop an optimized product design.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with Engineering, R&D and customer teams to develop and interpret design requirements to ensure overall project success.
  • Negotiate and set forth budgets and time scales for new product development.
  • Assist in development and maintenance of project schedules, including program plans that identify work scope, schedules, milestones, tasks, priorities, and risks.
  • Effectively communicate program/project status to all stakeholders including project team members, resource owners, suppliers, and customer groups.
  • Clarify and solve design issues.
  • Investigate and define materials and production processes.
  • Develop test fixtures, models, and prototypes.
  • Use computers to develop, document including light drafting, modeling, circuit design and programming.
  • Find solutions to existing product faults.
  • Present solutions and samples to internal team and customers.
