About The Position

As the Industrial Defense Security Manager, you lead the company’s industrial security program to ensure classified operations are executed securely and in full compliance with federal regulations. Your day includes coordinating with Program Management, Engineering, IT, Facilities, and Contracts teams, supporting cleared personnel, maintaining compliance with NISPOM and DCSA requirements, and administering security policies and training programs. You guide the security team, support government inspections and internal self-assessments, and help ensure classified information, personnel, and facilities are protected in a fast-paced, deadline-driven defense environment. This position requires an Active Top-Secret Security Clearance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 10 or more years of industrial security experience supporting classified DoD programs.
  • Experience managing or supervising security personnel.
  • Strong working knowledge of NISPOM, DCSA requirements, DISS, NISS, COMSEC accountability, and SCI program security.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply DoD security regulations and make sound compliance-based decisions.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and operate effectively in a dynamic, high-tempo environment.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, judgment, diplomacy, and customer focus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to brief personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and effective in a team environment.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Active Top-Secret clearance required; SCI eligibility strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Industrial Security Program: Develop, administer, and maintain the company’s industrial security program in compliance with NISPOM, DCSA, DoD, and customer security requirements.
  • Maintain Regulatory Compliance: Ensure facility compliance with NISPOM and prepare for DCSA Security Reviews and government assessments.
  • Manage System of Record Accuracy: Ensure all facility data is accurate and current within the National Industrial Security System (NISS).
  • Oversee Personnel Security Operations: Direct clearance processing, visit certifications, foreign travel reporting, incident reporting, and access management within DISS.
  • Develop Security Policies & Procedures: Create, implement, and maintain company security policies, procedures, and documentation supporting classified programs.
  • Administer Security Education Programs: Implement required training in accordance with NISPOM, including annual refresher training, Insider Threat awareness, and derivative classification training.
  • Conduct Self-Inspections & Corrective Actions: Perform internal security reviews, identify vulnerabilities, and implement corrective actions to maintain continuous compliance.
  • Support Government Inspections: Lead and support government reviews and implement all required corrective actions resulting from assessments.
  • Manage Classified Program Administration: Perform personnel processing, visitor control, classified material accountability, document control, and resolution of program security issues.
  • Serve as COMSEC Custodian: Maintain accountability of all COMSEC material in accordance with government and company requirements, including shipments, hand receipts, inventories, and reporting.
  • Lead Insider Threat Program: Serve as Insider Threat Program Senior Official by maintaining program documentation, leading the Insider Threat Working Group, and ensuring required training and reporting are completed.
  • Supervise and Develop Security Staff: Provide leadership, mentoring, performance management, and staffing support for Security Specialists and security personnel.
  • Collaborate Across the Organization: Partner with Program Management, Engineering, IT, Facilities, Contracts, and leadership to integrate security into operations and program execution.
