This position is supporting the Air Force Rapid Sustainment Office (RSO). The RSO increases mission readiness by rapidly identifying, applying and scaling technology essential to the operation and sustainment of the U.S. Air Force. This role supports the government cyber lead and provides cybersecurity support for advanced software-intensive technologies to include agile manufacturing, conditioned-based maintenance, augmented reality/virtual reality, learning neural networks, cloud-based infrastructure and services, and robotics. Responsibilities for System Administrator Assist in Cybersecurity Planning and Maintenance: The System Administrator will assist in planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining cybersecurity oversight for all aspects of the AMPO cybersecurity program. Prevent Unauthorized Access: Prevent and defend AMPO cybersecurity program Information Systems against unauthorized access, including securing computer systems, standalone systems, and data ingress/egress points. Cybersecurity Software Administration: Maintain and administer the AMPO Information Systems Cybersecurity Software Suites. IT Team Collaboration: Serve as a member of the Information Technology (IT) team for all AMPO cyber system administration, configuration, hardening, compliance, and security reporting. Project Management: Accomplish computer project assignments that require a wide range of knowledge of computer requirements and techniques pertinent to the position. System Design and Maintenance Analysis: Analyze and present alternative approaches to advising management on major aspects of IT system design and maintenance. Baseline Monitoring: Monitor baseline changes to information systems. System Security Controls: Assist and advise maintenance personnel on system security controls implemented. Test and verify system changes after maintenance is performed on the information system. System Interrelationships: Define and brief on system interrelationships, operating modes, system software, and equipment configurations appropriate for specific projects or systems. Security Control Assistance: Assist ISSO and ISSM with security control implementation, development of security control plans, and POAMs. Information Assurance Enforcement: Enforce Information Assurance, Intrusion Detection, and Computer Systems Security for all AMPO Information Systems and AM Process Systems. Patch Management: Manage Patch Management operations and ensure all AM information systems meet Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) or POAM compliance dates. Network Security Monitoring: Monitor the security of all AM standalone system networks. Configuration Management: Assist with laptop and desktop computer system configuration management, including imaging, encrypting, and performing software and hardware updates. IA Training and Certification: Experience and/or completion of specific IA training which demonstrates IT knowledge, as defined in the IA Approved Baseline Certifications. Attention to Detail: Apply attention to detail by completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in difficult or stressful situations. Customer Service: Demonstrate good customer service by committing to provide quality products and services for all customers, internal and external. Clear Communication: Communicate IT-related complex information clearly and concisely to customers, adjusting style when working with individuals with different levels of understanding, and using various methods to explain and convey information. Future IT Security Systems Management: Manage IT security systems to meet current and future business requirements, and apply, extend, enhance, or optimize the existing architecture. Team Collaboration: Willingly help the team anticipate problems, identify, and evaluate potential sources of information. Continuous Improvement and Learning: Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends, tools, and best practices. Participate in relevant workshops, conferences, and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge. Incident Response: Develop and maintain incident response plans. Participate in and coordinate response to cybersecurity incidents and breaches. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with DoD and other relevant cybersecurity standards and regulations. Maintain accurate documentation of cybersecurity processes, configurations, and incidents.
