About The Position

McKee Foods is seeking an Industrial Construction Electrician in our Corporate Shop team. As an Electrician, you'll be hands-on, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and components. You'll also play a crucial role in the construction and installation of electrical components and systems. Take on a diverse range of electrical responsibilities associated with building power and lighting systems to fine-tuning network systems Handle electrical modification and/or new installation of manufacturing equipment Complete scheduled work task as assigned Travel to the Branch Plants for line installations or modifications Use a computer to manage job assignments, schedules, labor and material tracking, etc. Maintain a tidy and arcuate inventory of parts and supplies

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Electrical trade school certification, with 3 to 5 years’ experience in related field or training
  • Willingness to obtain either a Chattanooga City Journeyman Electrician License or a Plant Master License
  • Demonstrated ability to follow current NEC requirements that guide daily work practices
  • Experience with installation and modification of new and old equipment
  • Experience with Commercial Structures wiring
  • Experience with Industrial distribution power wiring, panel control wiring and equipment wiring
  • History of proficiency in the operation in the safe use of multiple types of hand and power tools
  • Ability to obtain and maintain aerial operator’s license
  • Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certifications
  • Current drivers’ license and good driving record
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-directed, self-motivated, creative and interested in helping others excel and work effectively on a team or independently
  • Solid computer skills
  • Ability to work in extreme conditions (heights, temperatures, indoors and outdoors, and trenches)
  • Willingness to travel to branch plants as needed

Nice To Haves

  • PLC wiring experience
  • Above average mechanical aptitude
  • Current Electrical Journeyman license
  • Understanding and support of Lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Demonstrated history of work planning and estimating
