About The Position

Phoenix Manufacturing is looking for an Industrial Blast Operator at our Glasgow, Missouri manufacturing facility. Industrial Blaster Operators are responsible for operating the blast equipment/spray gun to propel steel grit onto metal surfaces to prepare it for painting.

Requirements

  • Previous experience operating blasting equipment preferred.
  • Previous experience operating material handling equipment.
  • Acute attention to detail and ability to exercise good judgement.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently to meet deadlines; work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to deal with change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with multiple departments and diverse personalities.
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to self and others.
  • Agree to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the company.
  • Successfully pass pre-employment background check, drug screen, and physical.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and tend to blast machines for all surfaces that are to be coated.
  • Monitors blasting equipment for jams, malfunctions, breakdowns, or stoppages.
  • Regulate controls on equipment for manual or automatic operations of cycle length, sequence, and timing of various operations.
  • Operate lifting and moving devises to move materials and equipment to access areas to be painted.
  • Rack work pieces on skids, inspect, mark, and transfer finished products to staging / shipping areas.
  • Maintain records of inventory of supplies on hand.
  • Initiate and maintain good housekeeping practices in all work areas, including cleanliness of blast building, equipment, and replacement of screens and filters.
  • Complies with all company safety policies and procedures and practices safe work habits.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
