We are looking for a highly motivated; customer focused Industrial Battery Service Technician to join our world class family of employees. Position will include an excellent starting wage of $23.00 per hour or more depending on industry experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, prescription drug, a 401-K savings plan, and paid time off.

Requirements

• Good driving record.
• Able to read and understand numerous technical manuals.
• Good writing skills.
• General math skills.
• Strong mechanical skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong electrical background from 120 volt 1 phase to 480 volt 3 phase.
• AC to DC rectification knowledge.
• Able to read schematics and control circuits.
• Basic electronics knowledge.
• Battery knowledge and ability to take voltage and gravity readings.
• Understanding how a lead acid battery works.
• Burning, welding, soldering skills.
• Knowledge of forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Able to work alone and be a self-starter.
• Basic computer skills with experience in Windows based programs (Word, Excel).
• Ability to climb and work on ladders, gantries, and cat walks.
• Must be able to bend, squat, and lift, move, and or slide up to 200 lb. battery cells approximately 25" high.

Nice To Haves

• Basic understanding of AC and DC electricity.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and work with maintenance managers, maintenance mechanics, electric truck mechanics, electricians, contractors, and East Penn Manufacturing's salespeople.
• Deal with customer complaints and down equipment.
• Travel to customer locations.
• Evaluate battery and charging equipment.
• Make on-site repairs of batteries and chargers.
• Create and maintain documents explaining customer's fleet by type, amp hour, repairs, recommendations, billing, and repairs.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Work mandatory overtime.
• Perform other duties as requested.
• Produce a high-quality product.
• Follow proper hygiene, housekeeping, and safety practices.
