About The Position

A Maintenance Automation specialist troubleshoots, services, and repairs computerized systems and robotic devices that are designed to reduce human interaction.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of plant equipment and preventative maintenance techniques.
  • Associate's degree in Electro-Mechanical, Industrial Automation, or Journeyman with E&I.
  • Formal training and/or education in electrical/electrical systems (including PLC’s) preferred.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in electrical or mechanical maintenance of plant production machinery and support systems preferred.

  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to use various hand tools, multi-meters, computers and oscilloscopes.
  • Detail oriented, well organized and able to function in a team environment under deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Capable of PLC programming using Allen Bradley, Siemens.
  • Working knowledge of Wonderware would be advantageous.
  • Manage plant utilities software through i-vue.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all plant and department specific safety rules, procedures, and programs.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment for all plant, department, and task specific requirements.
  • Escalate safety issues.
  • Link up with and communicate with all PLC and Drive Platforms.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting utilizing Rapid Problem-Solving Techniques and other principles.
  • Mentor and train other technicians and maintenance trainees on the Amcor systems and develop training procedures that do not exist.
  • Understand daily production losses relative to system issues and update maintenance staff of the Root Cause and the Corrective Actions.
  • Calibrate E/P, Loadcell, and other process sensors/scales.
  • Set PID controls on Temperature Controllers.
  • Work closely with OEM’s to understand equipment functionality and setup.
  • Design and implement Project Improvement Projects specifically in the field of electronics.
  • Update prints, redlines, through the use of AutoCAD 2D.
  • Write electrical procedures and documentation.
  • Work nights and weekends depending upon the call volume and after hour issues.
  • Work directly with Corporate and Plant Engineering.
  • Participate in larger Capex Projects when requested.
  • Troubleshoot both mechanically and electrically by having a working knowledge of mechanical components of machines and how to repair.
