About The Position

The Industrial Automation Specialist position is responsible for the growth of sales and customer application pre-sales and post-sales support for a specific group(s) of automation products and services. This role involves developing and implementing the Industrial Control and Smart Components portion of the annual business plan in conjunction with Rockwell Automation and Rexel Leadership, achieving sales goals, and ensuring effective communication between Rockwell Automation and Rexel.

Requirements

  • A four year engineering or technical degree or appropriate experience.
  • Ability to identify and demonstrate technology solutions for customer applications.
  • Core competency for the current technology related to Rockwell Automation-Standard & Industrial Control Products.
  • Ability to manage a project including pull through business.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training to maintain technical competency.
  • Valid driver's license for region of business operation with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Industrial Control and Smart Components portion of the annual business plan.
  • Achieve the Smart Components sales goals identified in the annual planning process.
  • Act as the focal point for all communication between Rockwell Automation and Rexel on Intelligent Device Products.
  • Launch new Industrial Control and Smart Components Products to Rexel sales personnel, including product training and competency with demo equipment.
  • Promote Industrial Control and Smart Components participation in local trade shows and customer seminars.
  • Ensure the sales force has a base level of expertise necessary to support daily sales activity.
  • Establish metrics to track the success of product launches and promotional programs.
  • Provide feedback to Rockwell Automation regarding technical and commercial information.
  • Meet or exceed sales goals of assigned technology offer.
  • Develop sales strategies, promotions, programs, and plans for sales growth.
  • Prepare periodic sales funnel and weekly sales reports.
  • Provide technical support for internal and external customers.
  • Establish relationships with sales and customers to understand sales potential.
  • Ascertain customer needs through visits and research.
  • Work with sales to establish joint strategies and activities.
  • Provide expert knowledge to Inside Sales for quoting and order entry.
  • Create and present technical and commercial training for customers.
  • Follow up on all business leads assigned by management.
  • Acquire and develop personal technical knowledge.
  • Provide quotations, proposals, or estimates of prices and terms.
  • Work with prospective customers to move projects through the sales cycle.
  • Prepare for sales calls and customer events.
  • Work with Purchasing on inventory management.
