About The Position

Step into the role Imagine starting your morning with a brief huddle alongside a talented group of automation and controls engineers. You review overnight production trends, decide which PLC/HMI updates move forward, and align on a vendor’s robotics integration plan that you’re program-managing. Midday, you’re collaborating with plant manufacturing, corporate engineering, and the union workforce on a cross-plant improvement initiative. Later, a reliability issue escalates to your team—not as first responders, but as the technical authority on complex controls, drives, and servo motion challenges. You close the day by harmonizing software change records and advancing our Industry 4.0 and IoT roadmap. What you’ll own Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of automation and controls engineers. Lead electrical controls and automation projects end-to-end, ensuring standards and best practices are consistently applied. Serve as the technical expert on factory reliability topics across PLCs, HMIs, Andon systems, variable speed drives, and servo motion control to maximize uptime and efficiency. Oversee software modifications, optimize programs, and maintain comprehensive change documentation. Contribute to company-wide standards for electrical engineering, controls, automation, Industry 4.0, and IoT. Participate in cross-plant improvement efforts; partner closely with plant manufacturing, corporate engineering, and the union workforce. Support structured root cause analysis for electrical, instrumentation, and control issues. Develop processes and support tools that ensure software and systems deliver maximum operational effectiveness. What you bring BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent technical degree with relevant experience). Proven leadership of project teams delivering results in manufacturing/assembly environments. Hands-on delivery of electrical, controls, and automation capital projects. Robotics integration experience. Demonstrated project management leadership across electrical/controls/automation systems. Desired: PLC/software programming proficiency—Allen‑Bradley as a core competency; exposure to Siemens. Experience planning and deploying Andon, Industry 4.0, and IoT systems; Ignition experience preferred. Safety leadership, including guarding and risk assessment analysis. Ability to interpret and apply hydraulic/pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings in the context of electrical controls. Desired tools: AutoCAD, Creo, and Fusion. Requirements

  • BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent technical degree with relevant experience).
  • Proven leadership of project teams delivering results in manufacturing/assembly environments.

  • Robotics integration experience.

  • PLC/software programming proficiency—Allen‑Bradley as a core competency; exposure to Siemens.
