About The Position

The University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College at North Little Rock is seeking a professional staff member to develop, implement, and teach specialized training programs for industry. The position involves teaching various subjects including industrial maintenance theory and practice, hydraulics, pneumatics, motor control, industrial electricity, and programmable logic controllers, among others. The role also includes assisting in the coordination of Business and Industry Center classes, delivering training as needed, and maintaining safety in labs. Collaboration with internal departments and external workforce development entities is essential to address current and emerging workforce education needs. The candidate will also participate in community relations events and aid in the selection and implementation of programs determined by industry partners.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one-year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of current industrial and advanced manufacturing theory and practice, including hydraulics, pneumatics, motor drive, industrial electricity, and/or PLC.

  • Applied engineering technologies (industrial, mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineer technologist).
  • Teaching experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and teach specialized training programs for industry.
  • Assist in coordination of Business and Industry Center classes, events, and outreach.
  • Deliver training as needed including off-campus offerings, with evenings and weekend classes.
  • Attend training and obtain certifications needed to perform duties.
  • Maintain safety in labs, including tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate with internal UA-PTC departments, external workforce development entities, and industry representatives.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director of Business and Industry Center and the Director of Workforce Development.
  • Actively serve on college committees.
  • Participate in community relations events to represent the College.
  • Aid in selection, implementation and utilization of programs determined by industry partners.
  • Update and maintain lab equipment to industry standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
