We are seeking a full time Direct Support Professional for our Individualized Support Services/In-Home Services (ISS/IHS) program. As an ISS/IHS Direct Support Professional you will work with our Residents, adults with developmental disabilities, on promoting independence in their homes and in the community by identifying and working towards their individual goals. What does an ISS/IHS Direct Support Professional (DSP) do? You will work independently within the community, providing support to individuals aimed at enhancing their independent living skills. Each person you support will have unique goals, which will serve as your primary focus, though you may provide additional assistance as needed. This role offers flexibility in scheduling, allowing you to set up appointments directly with the individuals on your caseload according to their allocated weekly hours. Changes in the caseload may occur to best meet the needs of the individuals and the program.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • At least two years’ experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to use personal registered and insured vehicle
  • Satisfactory CORI and DDS finger printing

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support based on identified goals, fostering the independent living skills of each person in your caseload.
  • Accurately document all support and services provided, maintaining up-to-date and detailed records
  • Ensure consistent and effective communication between all providers involved in each individual’s care.
  • Manage and meet with each individual on your caseload for the number of hours allocated weekly, adapting as needed for any caseload changes.
  • Maintain each individual’s personal file with accurate, secure, and comprehensive documentation.
  • Use your own vehicle to transport individuals as necessary for community activities and appointments. (Mileage reimbursement is provided)
  • Attend two mandatory team meetings each month, as well as monthly WOW Magic events. Additional duties and program updates will be communicated during these meetings.
  • Adapt to changing caseload demands
  • Possesses an upbeat and positive attitude to ensure a culture of FUN and entertaining WOW! Magic experiences for all Residents
