About The Position

This position is based in Denali National Park near Healy, AK. The incoming
intern will assist in the care of 30 Alaskan Husky sled dogs alongside National
Park Service staff.

Requirements

• Experience working with animals.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with sled dogs or at a dog kennel.

Responsibilities

• Tasks include feeding, cleaning, grooming, and training canine adults and puppies, and monitoring their general health (20%)
• Maintain equipment and grounds (20%)
• Assist with ensuring safe and smooth sled dog demonstrations for the public, may drive the dog team or deliver 40 minute interpretive talks (30%)
• Interact with visitors and answer questions (20%)
