About The Position

Seabury Resources for Aging (Seabury) is in search of an Individual Giving Manager. This position reports to the Managing Director of Advancement and works closely with members of the Advancement team to support Seabury’s comprehensive development strategy. The Individual Giving Manager manages the annual individual giving strategy and plays a central role in building and sustaining strong relationships with Seabury’s individual donors. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing Seabury’s individual giving program. This includes annual giving and online campaigns, donor cultivation and stewardship, small and mid-level donor solicitation, and donor communications. This role also requires strong mastery of development operations, including CRM data management, gift processing, and reporting, to ensure a strong donor experience and accurate tracking of progress toward revenue goals. The ideal candidate brings strong relationship-building skills to their work, paired with careful attention to detail and follow-through. They are comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, communicating effectively across teams, and translating donor engagement strategies into day-to-day execution. This individual is excited to deepen relationships with existing donors, engage new supporters, and contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven Advancement team focused on meeting and exceeding individual giving goals. This position is a full-time, 40-hour per week job in a hybrid role of two days/week in the Seabury office in Washington, DC, and work-from-home option the remainder of the time.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, with a focus on individual giving.
  • Demonstrated experience working on individual giving, email campaigns, annual fund, and/or monthly giving.
  • Relationship management and donor stewardship.
  • Experienced in using CRM software, including gift processing and reporting. Salesforce experience a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience tailoring messages to suit intended audiences and compelling readers to act
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain thoughtful personal relationships with high-net-worth individuals.
  • Strong project management skills utilized to work on multiple simultaneous projects with different deadlines, with a sharp eye on details, quality, and accuracy
  • Ability to use fundraising software (Salesforce a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Expert knowledge of CRM best practices
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to analyze and use data and metrics to shape goals, strategies, and tactics
  • High level of skill with iOS and MS Office applications Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong research skills

Responsibilities

  • Donor Relationship Management: Support the strategy for major gifts, including identifying and researching prospects, managing a portfolio of relationships, and tracking major donor progress in the Salesforce CRM.
  • Conduct prospect research on new and existing donors in order to provide input on goals and relationship plans for donors accordingly.
  • Project manage the donor stewardship plan on a weekly basis.
  • Manage the mid-level donor strategy and relationships.
  • Manage and grow the community of monthly donors.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for all general donor inquiries and communications.
  • Follow-up with lapsed donors about reactivation.
  • Donor Appeals and Communication: In partnership with the Managing Director of Advancement, create the strategy and manage the implementation and evaluation of all annual appeals focused on developing new donors and retaining existing mid-level and smaller dollar donors.
  • In partnership with the Corporate and Events Manager, develop and implement pre- and post-event constituent cultivation plans for special event attendees.
  • Support the creation and customization of individual donor solicitation materials, such as proposals and pitch decks.
  • In partnership with the Communications Associate, design, project manage, and evaluate social media plans to support annual appeals.
  • Manage the process for exporting and cleaning lists for donor segmentation in campaigns.
  • Volunteers In partnership with the Corporate and Events Manager, create and carry out post-volunteer experience follow up to keep volunteers connected to the Seabury community.
  • Support the Managing Director in developing and implementing the strategy for engaging advisory council members in fundraising.
  • Fundraising Planning, Tracking and Operations: Identify and research prospective new individual donors, utilizing a combination of wealth screenings, network connections, and analysis of giving patterns to build a robust donor pipeline.
  • In partnership with the Managing Director, create a targeted prospect list for cultivation and solicitation based on research and current donor activity.
  • Conduct weekly gift processing and acknowledgement letter mail merges.
  • Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of all development activities and donor interactions, tracking progress toward goals and next steps in the donor engagement process using Salesforce.
  • In partnership with the Managing Director, coordinate and oversee moves and task management in Salesforce for all open funding opportunities.
  • In partnership with the Managing Director, prepare and present reports on fundraising progress, donor activity, and the overall health of the individual giving strategy to leadership and board members.
