About The Position

General Purpose: Develop and maintain dealer indirect lending relationships to help grow loan volume, increase efficiency, and promote deeper indirect relationships. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Cultivate and maintain effective dealer relationships, establish new dealership relationships in appropriate markets. This will be done primarily by visiting dealerships in person and via telephone. Responsible for establishing effective lines of open communication with dealers and indirect staff. Represent the Credit Union in a friendly, out-going, professional manner. Educate dealerships on Credit Union policies, products, and services. Responsible to stay current on competitor programs to include rate changes, market developments, news, and trends. Other Duties/Responsibilities Keep management informed of any dealer issues. Serve as liaison between dealers and lending staff while working toward resolutions, including correcting contract errors, titling issues, collecting dealer charge backs and negative reserves. Meet with dealers regularly to define expectations, review results, and identify areas of improvement. Evaluate profitability and delinquency of dealerships on the program and make recommendations to remove dealers from the program if needed. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of the credit union's products and services.
  • Working knowledge of credit unions policies/procedures and service philosophy.
  • Working knowledge of safety and security program for false alarms, robberies, bomb threats and extortion.
  • Working knowledge of credit union's in-house computer system / Internet.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal consumer lending regulations.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to comprehend complex functions and procedures and to be able to disseminate that knowledge in a clear and understandable format to others.
  • Ability to express oneself, clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain confidential records and reports.
  • Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts and develop solutions.
  • Ability to analyze statistics and financial data.
  • Ability to present a professional and personable personality that communicates to members and visitors that the credit union is a professional financial institution.
  • Ability to work within precise standardized guidelines with some latitude to make decisions and take initiative to resolve problems or unique circumstances.
  • Job requires a high school level of language, math and reasoning skills.
  • Must possess and maintain a current, valid drivers license.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years of dealership experience in Finance and Insurance, auto sales or related industry preferred.
