A Brief Overview Hybrid 4 Day/Week On-Site Requirement in our Columbus, OH Headquarters The Procurement Manager leads a team of professionals responsible for managing Indirect Procurement categories (i.e. HR, Marketing, Professional Services, Legal, Finance/Banking, Insurance, etc). This role is pivotal in shaping and executing long-term procurement strategies, overseeing key spend areas, and driving initiatives that deliver measurable cost savings and mitigate risk. The position fosters supplier innovation and champions process and digital transformation to align procurement with broader business objectives. Through strong stakeholder collaboration and data-driven insights, the Procurement Manager ensures sustainable value creation. Acting as a strategic business partner rather than a transactional function, this role delivers competitive advantage through innovative sourcing and streamlined processes, enabling operational excellence and supporting organizational growth at both national and global levels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, or related field preferred: Required
  • 7-10 years Procurement, purchasing, or sourcing experience in Indirect spend categories, including: HR, Marketing, Legal, Banking, Insurance, and/or Processional Services/Labor: Required
  • 2-4 years Supervisory experience leading Procurement professionals: Required
  • 7-10 years Negotiation, supplier relationship management, and cost savings expertise: Required
  • Expertise in relationship-based value creation and complex deal structuring through effective contract negotiation and strategic supplier relationship management. (High Proficiency)
  • Team leadership, coaching, and people management in a fast-paced environment
  • Upskill teams in category management, negotiation, data literacy, AI management, and "analytics storytelling" to bridge the gap between technical outputs and business decisions to inform a data based strategy. (High Proficiency)
  • Analytical skills: complex spend data analysis, cost modeling, and data interpretation. (High Proficiency)
  • Design multi-year category strategies (1–5 years) that align with enterprise goals, focusing on total cost of ownership (TCO) rather than just purchase price. (High Proficiency)
  • Communication & collaboration: verbal, written, and presentation skills for engaging internal stakeholders and suppliers. (High Proficiency)
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills to align procurement activities with Finance, IT, and Operations. (High Proficiency)
  • Time management and organization, multi-tasking ability. (High Proficiency)
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, contract legal terms, high value supplier spend negotiations, sourcing execution. (High Proficiency)
  • Lead the shift toward cloud-based orchestration tools to automate routine workflows like RFP generation and contract drafting. (High Proficiency)
  • Customer service orientation with cross functional teams. (Moderate Proficiency)
  • Microsoft Office-based software applications. (Moderate Proficiency)
  • Financial acumen (purchase variance, AP, accrual P&L management). (Moderate Proficiency)

Responsibilities

  • Category Management: Develop and implement category strategies in collaboration with business stakeholders and leadership to maximize value and minimize cost.
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Legal, and business leaders to understand needs, influence change, and integrate procurement into overall strategy, Incorporate market trends, spend analysis, and supplier performance data to drive cost savings, identify and mitigate supply chain risks and service improvements.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement enterprise-wide sourcing strategies, leading complex RFx processes (RFIs/RFPs) for critical goods/services, ensuring alignment with business objectives to ensure consistent supply and long-term value creation.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership, coaching, and development for procurement professionals to foster a high-performance, continuous improvement culture and that delivers against Procurement & Safelite business objectives and goals.
  • Transformation & Process Improvement: Champion digital tools, data analytics, and process enhancements (e.g., spend visibility, automation) to modernize procurement operations.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build strategic supplier partnerships, manage performance, negotiate favorable terms, and drive innovation and sustainability.
