About The Position

The Indirect Materials Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting daily manufacturing operations by ensuring the timely availability of indirect materials, MRO parts, and bulk fluids. This role must value and reinforce a culture built on respect for people, safety, and operational discipline. Success is defined by maintaining safe operations and enabling performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost through strong material planning and supplier coordination. The Indirect Materials Coordinator is a hands‑on problem solver who partners cross‑functionally to minimize disruptions, improve reliability, and keep the factory equipped to succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory levels, cycle counts, and storage organization for indirect materials, MRO parts, and consumables.
  • Ensure proper handling and compliance for lubricants, chemicals, and other regulated materials.
  • Manage procurement, inventory, and supplier coordination for bulk fluids and factory indirect materials.
  • Monitor usage and replenishment to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Secure materials for PMs, planned work, and unplanned maintenance.
  • Provide accurate material identification and system documentation support.
  • Source, issue purchase orders, and expedite indirect materials.
  • Resolve supplier delivery, quality, and substitution issues in coordination with Enterprise Supply Chain.
  • Maintain part masters, BOMs, storage locations, and accurate inventory transactions.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, Production, EHS, and Supply Chain to align material needs.
  • Improve stocking strategies and support material related root cause and corrective actions.
  • Establish and 5S indirect materials storerooms, including layout, labeling, and storage standards.
  • Define inventory controls, min/max levels, and critical indirect and maintenance spare parts.
  • Create and maintain indirect material and MRO part master data, storage locations, and BOMs.
  • Validate BOMs during equipment installation and commissioning.
  • Source, quote, and create purchase orders for indirect materials, bulk fluids, consumables, and spares needed for startup.
  • Partner with Enterprise Supply Chain to support supplier onboarding, pricing, and lead time alignment.
  • Ensure indirect materials required for commissioning and initial PMs are available.
  • Support maintenance teams with part identification and documentation accuracy.
