We are looking for an Indirect Loan Processor to join our Indirect Lending team. In this role, you will manage loan documents, fund dealership contracts, and work with dealer business offices to ensure smooth transactions. Reporting directly to the Indirect Processor Supervisor, the Indirect Loan Processor is responsible for performing clerical and loan processing duties in support of Indirect Lending operations. This includes reviewing and processing indirect loan documentation, funding dealership contracts for new loans, and collaborating with dealer business offices to ensure accurate and timely contract payments.

Requirements

  • Expertise in clerical and loan processing duties related to indirect lending, with a requisite understanding of financial institution operations.
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are complex (i.e. transaction, loan problems).
  • Due to periods of high loan volume, this position periodically requires overtime.
  • Requires the ability to adjust priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Requires excellent interpersonal communication skills to ascertain dealers'/members' needs and handle problems.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive in seeking professional growth, embracing both formal and informal development opportunities, and demonstrating adaptability to new responsibilities.
  • Team-oriented with a strong collaborative mindset, actively supporting team members and contributing to a positive and high-performing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to perform essential functions, including the ability to lift up to 10 lbs. as needed.
  • HSD or GED
  • One (1) year(s) of applicable experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior credit union or related industry preferred.
  • Prior dealership experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Inputs indirect loan applications received into lending system.
  • Reviews loan packets for relevant and related documents that may be missing.
  • Updates member account information as requested by members.
  • Uploads documents into document housing system in a timely manner.
  • Maintains positive and professional relationships with dealer contacts, promoting Sandia Area and its Dealer Finance Program in a positive manner.
  • Works with dealers' business offices to ensure the Credit Union is updated on funding changes and resolves any contract errors.
  • Calls dealers' finance and insurance manager for missing documents and/or takes subsequent action to ensure Credit Union's receipt of documents.
  • Completes verification of employment and conducts customer interviews as necessary.
  • Processes loan paperwork, reviews loan documentation for completeness, and ensures funding of contracts meets turnaround time.
  • Audits and processes assigned indirect loan contracts.
  • Prepares reports in a timely and accurate manner including but not limited to: monthly volume reports and indirect activity reports.
  • Reviews funding reports daily to ensure loans are processed correctly before sending ACH funds to the dealerships.
  • Ensures Indirect Lending Supervisor is kept fully informed of department activities and of any significant problems or concerns.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime to accommodate periods of high application volumes and business needs.
  • Retains an overall knowledge of all areas of the Credit Union.
  • Responsible for learning new products the Credit Union offers, attending staff trainings, and remaining informed of changes in Credit Union policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to upholding the organization’s mission, vision, and values in all interactions and responsibilities.
  • Represent the credit union with professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct at all times.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding and strict adherence to credit union regulations, compliance requirements, policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
