About The Position

Provide support and assistance with all aspects of the indirect lending program, including dealer/member contact, lending, processing, and cross-selling of BHFCU products to members.

Requirements

  • High school level of language, math and reasoning skills.
  • One to two years experience in a related field with equal responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of the credit union's products and services.
  • Working knowledge of organization's policies/procedures and credit union's service philosophy.
  • Working knowledge of safety and security program for false alarms, robberies, bomb threats and extortion.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal consumer lending regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of the indirect lending program.
  • Consumer loan approval, rejection, or referral for review.
  • Process loan applications: answer questions; verify applications for completeness; conduct credit investigations; determine value and status of collateral; determine debt ratio, and document loan decision in writing; disbursal of loan proceeds.
  • Answer member questions about consumer lending. Provide book values, payment quotes, loan payoffs, and loan rates to members.
  • Review payment schedule so that member understands repayment obligation.
  • Process payroll deduction, distribution, and allotments.
  • Review contracts for cross-selling opportunities and initiate calls to members to effectively cross-sell credit union products and services.
  • Maintain loan files according to procedure.
  • Monitor dealer contracts to ensure proper documents are obtained and completed.
  • Maintain loan information on computer and all follow-up paperwork including: review of daily loan minutes to acknowledge previous day's loans.
  • Initial collection of delinquent loans.
  • Review loan files and conduct periodic audits to determine compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Audit computer reports for errors and inconsistencies.
  • Provide assistance to members; determine nature of the member's business, and whether to transact the request or refer to the proper staff person.
  • Assist members with opening and processing new accounts, including savings accounts, and checking accounts.
  • Research account information or discrepancies for members at their request.
  • Complete account inquiries, address changes, and account maintenance requests as directed by members.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Underwriting/Dealer Direct Manager.
