We’ve worked on over thirty award-winning projects, and our work has been published locally and internationally. Founded in 2003, our award-winning projects include Hudson Yards in New York (the largest private real estate development in U.S. history), San Francisco Better Streets Plan, Greater New Orleans Urban Water Plan, revitalization of the iconic waterfront Brooklyn Bridge Park, and the 35 square-km Baietan Urban Area Plan in the heart of Guangzhou, China. Our mission is to engineer an environmentally and socially regenerative planet. Will you join us? Overview The Indigenous Design Intern initiative aims to establish a paid opportunity designed specifically to support Indigenous students & emerging Indigenous engineers interested in civil engineering practices to support sustainability, water resources, and nature-based infrastructure. The opportunity will provide hands-on engineering experience while honoring Indigenous values and the principles of future generations in design and decision-making. The intent of this opportunity aligns with SDE’s values of long-term stewardship, environmental responsibility, and impact. We aim to support students interested in sustainability, resilience, and community driven design, integrating these values throughout stages of technical production. This will create meaningful access to the engineering profession for Indigenous students who are historically underrepresented in the field.
