About The Position

Join IGN Entertainment, a leading media brand for games, movies, TV, comics, and more, as an entrepreneurial Indie Publisher Sales Lead. This role is pivotal in driving the growth of IGN’s publisher partnerships within the indie gaming ecosystem. The successful candidate will be responsible for extensive field sales, identifying and prospecting indie game publishers across PC, console, and mobile platforms. Key duties include executing in-person pitches of IGN’s advertising, content, and partnership offerings to key decision-makers, as well as building long-term revenue-generating partnerships by attending industry mixers, developer communities, and publisher offices. The position also involves negotiating and closing complex media deals and requires frequent travel to major domestic and international gaming conventions (such as GDC, PAX) for on-site sales activities. IGN Entertainment, a division of Ziff Davis, is one of the world’s largest gaming and entertainment media platforms, reaching over 470 million monthly users in 100 countries and engaging with 85 million fans on social media. Through its online digital store Humble Bundle, IGNE has donated over $270 million to more than 38,000 charities worldwide.

Requirements

  • Experience in a role that requires autonomous travel and off-site client acquisition.
  • Deep understanding of the indie gaming ecosystem (publishers, developers, launch cycles).
  • Highly self-motivated and comfortable with a performance-driven structure.
  • Elite storytelling and negotiation skills.
  • Must have the ability to travel frequently to meet with clients at their locations and have their own reliable mode of transportation for local travel.

Responsibilities

  • Spend the majority of your working week "in the field" meeting with indie game publishers across major industry hubs.
  • Identify and prospect indie game publishers across PC, console, and mobile.
  • Execute in-person pitches of IGN’s advertising, content, and partnership offerings to key decision-makers.
  • Attend industry mixers, developer communities, and publisher offices to build long-term revenue-generating partnerships.
  • Negotiate and close complex media deals.
  • Attend major domestic and international gaming conventions (GDC, PAX, etc.) to conduct on-site sales activities.
