About The Position

The State Director (Executive Director) is responsible for the overall administration and growth of services in Indiana. Dungarvin Indiana has approximately 500 employees who provide services to 250 persons with IDD in residential programs. In this role, the State Director is responsible for setting strategic operations and long-term goals for Dungarvin Indiana, aligning with the organization's mission and vision. The State Director oversees fiscal direction, including budget planning, financial forecasting, and resource allocation. They drive the expansion of existing services and spearhead the development of new lines of business to meet evolving community needs. Regular evaluations of programs and services are conducted to ensure the highest quality of care for individuals with IDD. The State Director serves as an innovative leader of the operational team in Indiana, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Compliance with all applicable rules, standards, and laws, including state and federal regulations governing IDD services, is assured. The State Director serves as the primary representative of Dungarvin and a liaison between senior administrative staff and funding and oversight authorities. They nurture and develop relationships with potential and existing business partners, including local, state, and Federal legislative and department representatives, and engage with advocacy groups, trade associations, and other stakeholders to promote the interests of individuals with IDD. The State Director implements and oversees staff development programs to ensure a highly skilled and motivated workforce, manages risk and crisis situations, and develops contingency plans. Staying informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in IDD services to maintain a competitive edge is essential. Collaboration with other stakeholders within the Dungarvin network to share knowledge, resources, and best practices is also a key responsibility. The State Director prepares and presents regular reports to senior management on the state's performance, challenges, and opportunities for growth. Additionally, the State Director is responsible for fostering a positive organizational culture that promotes inclusivity, person-centered care, and professional growth for all employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in human services field required (Psychology, Counseling, Allied Health, Educational Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, etc.). Preference to master’s degree.
• Minimum of 8 years senior director level human services industry experience, specific to Developmentally Disabled/Intellectual Disabilities populations.
• Experience managing day program and/or ICF and/or supported group living programs with the DD/ID population.
• Financial management skills and budget experience of 10 million plus as well as being personally accountable for the P&L.
• Previous experience with the state of Indiana systems (DDRS)
