About The Position

SOS Logistics, LLC is preparing to support a federal transportation contract with the Birmingham VA Medical Center providing discharge transportation services for U.S. Veterans. We are seeking professional independent drivers who operate their own reliable vehicles. Drivers will be pre-qualified now and onboarded within 30 days of contract award. This is not rideshare work. This is structured, professional transportation service supporting Veterans. Service Overview Drivers transport medically cleared Veterans from the Birmingham VA Medical Center to their residence or destination within approximately 125 miles of Birmingham. Most trips are short local trips under 25 miles. Typical workload averages 2–3 trips per day. Peak discharge window: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM (weekdays) Optional evening and weekend coverage may be available.

Requirements

Valid Alabama driver's license
Clean driving record
Ability to pass background screening
Professional appearance and demeanor
Reliable and punctual
Comfortable assisting Veterans with belongings when needed
Provide a clean, well-maintained vehicle: Sedan, SUV, or minivan
2015 or newer preferred
Clean and smoke-free interior
Working heat and air conditioning
Valid registration
Active auto insurance
Smartphone for dispatch communication

Nice To Haves

Prior medical transport or professional driving experience
Veteran-friendly mindset
Strong customer service skills
Familiarity with the Birmingham metro area
