About The Position

East Penn is currently seeking an Industrial Service Technician who communicates and works with maintenance managers, maintenance mechanics, electric truck mechanics, electricians, contractors, and East Penn Manufacturing's salespeople. The role involves dealing with customer complaints and down equipment, traveling to customer locations, evaluating battery and charging equipment, and making on-site repairs of batteries and chargers. The technician must create and maintain documents explaining the customer's fleet by type, amp hour, repairs, recommendations, billing, and repairs. Regular attendance and the ability to work mandatory overtime are required. The technician is also responsible for producing a high-quality product and adhering to proper hygiene, housekeeping, and safety practices. These tasks are considered essential elements of the job.

Requirements

  • Electrical background preferred.
  • Basic reading skills.
  • Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying).
  • Basic computer skills, including Word and Personal Computer (PC).
  • Ability to evaluate and troubleshoot problems and provide potential solutions.
  • Ability to resolve discrepancies.
  • Mechanical skills with hand tools and power tools.
  • Awareness of pneumatics.
  • Basic reading of schematics.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot startings and stoppages of machinery.
  • Knowledge of rigging and lifting.
  • Oxy-Acetylene torch skills.
  • Basic understanding of transformers and contactors.
  • Minor electrical skills.
  • Basic knowledge of 240V three phase and 480V three phase.
  • Basic understanding of AC and DC electricity.
  • Basic electrical and electronic skills.
  • Ability to identify and test basic electronic components such as diodes, capacitors, and resistors.
  • Ability to remove and install printed circuit boards.
  • Understanding the basic theory of rectification and the basic layout of a rectifier.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic operation.
  • Good telephone skills and ability to communicate with co-workers.
  • Has a DOT Medical Qualification Card.

Responsibilities

  • Dealing with customer complaints and down equipment.
